William (Bill) H. Davis ,97 years old, passed away peacefully at the Vermont Veteran's Home in Bennington, on January 28,2018. He was born on May 18, 1920 in Bennington and lived most of his life in areas surrounding and including Bennington. Bill served in the Army from Oct1941 until Oct 1945 during WWII and helped with the construction of the Panama Canal. He was a logger all his life and loved to go fishing. He is pre-deceased by his wife of 46 years, Mabel V. Davis who died in March 2015 also brothers John Davis and Leslie Davis and sister Beatrice Shuman. He is survived by his 2 sisters Rosemary Hilton and Jenny Davis, 8 step-children-David Robinson and wife Joyce, Norman Robinson and wife Estelle, Janice Wright and husband Gregory, William Robinson and wife Candace, Alton Robinson, Wanda Sweet, Pamela Hebert and husband Michael, and Alice Jonte and husband Christopher, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no funeral service for Bill at this time. The family will have a celebration of life at a later time. Contributions may be made to the Vermont Veteran's Home when Bill resided for the last 6 years, c/o Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home P.O. Box 957 Bennington, VT 05201. There will be no funeral service for Bill at this time. The family will have a celebration of life at a later time.
