Michael Joseph Pike was born on August 2nd, 1970 in Bennington, Vermont to Gladys and Casper Pike. He passed away surrounded by love on March 29th, 2021 from a brief illness. He graduated from Arlington Memorial High School in 1989. He went on to serve 4 years in the U.S. Army and 12 years in the U.S. Army Reserves during that time he served in Operation Enduring Freedom. He is preceded in death by his parents Casper Allen Pike and Gladys Mae Pike. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Roberta Pike, and his five children who he adored more than life itself Sylvia, Scott, Savannah, Jonathan, and Chandler; along with two grandchildren Skyler and Rowan. He leaves behind sisters Linda (Robert) Crosby, Betsy Duffy, Susan (Joe) Gervais, Jenny (Jeff) Gould and his brothers Sam (Cindy) Pike, Jim (Margret) Pike, Ed (Brenda) Pike, and Charlie Pike along numerous nieces and nephews. He was a man who loved his family and his community. Michael was a long time resident in Arlington, where he passionately worked in lawn care developing his own successful business. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 69. He was a man many could rely on, always bringing the presence of joy and laughter to anyone he came across. He was an avid card player, loved watching local sports games, coaching, and camping with family and friends. He was a man who was bigger and than life itself. In the game of life, he was all in. To commemorate Michael's life and love of sports, the first annual Mike Pike Softball tournament will be held on Saturday April 3, 2021 beginning at 8am at the Arlington Recreational Park. Mike's family will receive friends at the Lion's Pavilion at the Park from 11am to 3pm. All are invited to attend. The family asks that you please observe Covid 19 precautions. A service with a celebration of life will be held at a later date and announced at that time.
