Albert W. "Bill" Bowen

Albert W. “Bill” Bowen, 94, a resident of Hill Lane in Sunderland, VT, passed away March 29, 2025 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington. Bill was born in Sunderland on October 26, 1930 the son of the late Herbert J. and Ethel (Morehouse) Bowen and attended local schools. Bill owned and operated Bowen's Appliance and Repairs for many years. He loved hunting and fishing and cherished time spent with his family especially children and grandchildren. He was involved for many years with the Mt. Equinox Grange and did grounds keeping at Camp Ondawa. He was a member of the State Police Auxilary, a School Board member and Health Officer for the Town of Sunderland. Bill is survived by his wife Martha (Hill) Bowen, whom he married October 15, 1960, son Mark Bowen (Robin) of Shaftsbury, daughters Jennifer Heintz (Dan) of Milton, VT and Melissa Bushee (John) of Sunderland, sister Harriet Landon of Rutland, VT, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Norma Corey, and brothers H. James Bowen, Raymond "Buster" Bowen and Parker Bowen. A celebration of life for Bill will be held Saturday April 5, 2025 at 11am at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home Arlington Chapel Historic Route 7A Arlington, VT. Interment will follow in the family lot in Ira-Allen Cemetery in Sunderland. A visiting hour at the funeral home will be held Saturday April 5, 2025 from 10-11am, one hour prior to the service.
