Alice Hilse

Alice M. Hilse, 90, a resident of Route 67 East, Shaftsbury, passed away December 24, 2016 at her home. Alice was born in North Bennington on April 13, 1926 the daughter of of the late Edward and Anna (Granger) Sweet. She received her education in North Bennington schools, graduating from North Bennington High School. Alice worked at Polygraphics and Stanley Tools for seventeen years. Alice enjoyed playing the piano, reading Christian Books and was a former Sunday School Teacher at the North Bennington Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter Beverly Hilse of North Bennington, brother Doug Sweet (Linda) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Hilse whom she married in Bennington on August 16, 1958. Mr. Hilse passed away April 12, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her sister Stella Watkins and two brothers David and Edward Sweet. Memorial services for Alice will be held Friday December 30, 2016 at 11am at the North Bennington Baptist Church. Interment will be private. There are no visiting hours. If friends desire.
