Andrea Lull Diehl died on November 8 after a three-year fight with cancer. Her wit, love of life, and compassion for others is the model of a life well-lived. She is missed beyond words by her husband, children, grandchild, sisters, family, and many friends. A skilled writer, a burgeoning painter, and an excellent cook, Andrea had a passion for travel, admired the arts, and enjoyed fine food and wine. She filled her world with art and whimsy, textures and beauty, good food and love. The grace and strength she demonstrated in her last few years has been an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Born in Florence, Colorado, on February 28, 1953, Andrea graduated summa cum laude with the first class of women at Williams College. She received an M.Ed. from Antioch University New England and an M.F.A. from Bennington College. In 1992, Bennington College hired Andrea as Director of Communications, bringing Andrea and her children to North Bennington, Vermont. She subsequently established her own consulting company, iDiehl Communications, and co-authored The Vermont Country Store Cookbook. Andrea's two children, Jessica and Zachary, were the light of her life. She lived to see them happily married: Zachary to Juniper Mott-White, and Jessica to Mark Mazzenga. She welcomed with great joy a granddaughter, Zoey Mazzenga, in 2016. Andrea married Robert Steuer in 2003 and they built a home together in Shaftsbury, VT. A mutual love of biking and travel, they took many bike trips and adventures abroad. In addition to these family members, Andrea is survived by sisters Lauren and Janet Diehl; stepmother Marne Diehl; stepdaughter Kristie Steuer Dixon; many nieces, nephews, and extended family; and many, many friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Deborah Diehl, and her grandson, Wyatt Dixon. The date for a memorial has not yet been set.
