Ann S. (Nan) Rizio, 72, a resident of Canterbury Road, passed away August 3, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous and painful battle with cancer. Nan was born in Hartford, CT on October 3, 1944 the daughter of the late Theodore and Evelyn (Prior) Stenstrom. She attended schools in Bloomfield, graduating from Bloomfield High School where Nan was so proud of being a cheerleader. She then went on to receive her Associate degree from Green Mountain College for Women. Nan was the Office Manager at the Manchester Journal for many years. She enjoyed knitting, was an avid reader and loved animals. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and collecting salt and pepper shakers. She loved animals, especially cats, traveling especially to Camden, Maine and Cape Cod, enjoyed her friends and spending time with her family and adored her grandson Noah. Nan was a person who saw the good in everyone and had an infectious sense of humor. She is survived by her husband Richard (Dick) Rizio of Manchester whom she married May 8, 1965 in Bloomfield, CT, children Eric Rizio and Wendy Rizio both of Manchester and her grandson Noah. She was preceded in death by her son Glen Rizio who died in 2015 and her brother Thomas Stenstrom who died in 2016. A celebration of the life of Ann S. (Nan) Rizio will be held Friday August 11, 2017 at 11am at Zion Episcopal Church in Manchester. A reception at the church will follow. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will beheld Thursday August 10, 2017 from 5-7pm at Brewster-Shea Funeral Home 34 Park Place Manchester Center, VT.
