Arlene Fay Lapan

Arlene Fay LaPan, born on March 16, 1948, in Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away on October 30, 2024, in Windham, Vermont, where she had made her home. She is survived by her sister Pamela, Daughter Nicole, and Son Randall.

Arlene was a vibrant spirit who embraced life with open arms. She had a strong passion for the outdoors, enjoying hiking, tending to her garden, and marveling at the moon and stars. Her love for nature was matched only by her devotion to family, whom she cherished deeply.

A trailblazer in her community, Arlene graduated from barber school in Springfield Massachusetts, and made her mark as the first female barber in South Londonderry, Vermont, where she opened her own shop. Her love for classic music filled her life, with favorites like Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, and Lynyrd Skynyrd often playing in the background as she prepared her beloved dishes, including lasagna, linguine with clam sauce, and shepherd’s pie.

Arlene was a fan of the classic television series "Law and Order," as well as western and classic movies, and she enjoyed cheering on her favorite football teams. Her zest for life and love for the simple pleasures will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
