Arthur R. “Artie” Barber Jr

It is with profound sadness that Arthur R. “Artie” Barber Jr 48 passed away unexpectedly on Thursday September 28, 2021 in Bennington, VT. On January 28, 1973 Artie was born in Bennington, VT at Southern Vermont Medical Center. He was the son of the late Barbara Crandall and the late Christopher Carpenter Sr. He was adopted at a young age by Arthur Barber Sr and he grew up attending local schools. Throughout his life he was a true outdoorsman where he enjoyed hunting , fishing and became an accomplished tree surgeon. Artie enjoyed listening to old country music and being around the ones he loved. He loved animals, especially loved his dog chaos who was his best friend. He will be remembered as being the life of the party as well as having a heart as big as his mouth. He was known as, “Artie J”, “my brother” and or “uncle Artie” as he considered anyone he loved to be family. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Karissa and Gaige Crandall. His siblings Rick (Katrina) Hastings, Grace (DJ) Schaefer, Barb Barber (Shawn Lofaro), Justin Bassler, and Chris Carpenter Jr, as well as his loyal canine Chaos. His nieces and nephews Madison, Holden, and Evalyin Lofaro, Kassidy Olansky, Brandon, Ashdin, Zandri, Kendin and Draysin Schaefer, Karalina, Gracie and Charlotte Hastings, and Cora Carpenter. The family will receive friends at the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home , 213 West Main Street, Bennington on Tuesday October 5 from 11-1pm, a time of sharing memories and stories will be held at the conclusion of the visitation.
