Beverly L. King, 82 a resident of Buck Hill Road passed away at her home on Wednesday October 4, 2017 following a lengthy illness. The daughter of Raymond and Eileen (Fleming) Weeks Sr., she was born in Reading, Ma on April 2, 1935. She grew up in the Reading, MA and Manchester, VT area where she attended local schools. Beverly married Richard King in Manchester on April 17, 1954. She had worked at Hale Furniture Company and Quadratek from which she retired. Active in her community, Beverly was a life member of the Arlington Rescue Squad where she served as a volunteer for 19 years, a 26 year member of American Legion Post 69 Auxiliary, Arlington Fire Department Auxiliary, a member of the Arlington Lions Club and a Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed the beach, especially vacationing on Cape Cod , cats and time spent with her family. She leaves her husband of 64 years, Richard, son Ronald (Marilyn) King of St. Albans, daughters Deborah Mears of Arlington, Diane King and Donna Ennis, and Denise (Dennis) Mathieu all of Sunderland, brothers Billy, Jimmy and Mike Weeks, half-brother Richard Preston, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren,2 great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter Darlene Melvin on Oct. 19. 2008 and siblings Patricia LaRock, Richard and Raymond Weeks. Services will be held on Saturday October 7 at 1pm at the Arlington Chapel of the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home , friends may call from 11-1pm on Saturday. A memorial reception will follow at American Legion Post 69 , all are invited to attend. Memorial gifts may be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Beverly. Services will be held on Saturday October 7 at 1pm at the Arlington Chapel of the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home , friends may call from 11-1pm on Saturday. A memorial reception will follow at American Legion Post 69 , all are invited to attend.
