Bobby E. King, 80, a resident of North Street, passed away September 6, 2016 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington. Bobby was born in Gastonia, NC on March 18, 1936 the son of Roy and Ella King and attended local schools. Bobby was an Army and Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict era. He worked for General Electric in Schenectady, NY, but was known more as a musician and Schenectady area band member. He was a wonderful entertainer with a fantastic sense of humor. He loved listening to music, playing guitar and the water. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and fishing. He was a former member of the Eagles in Glens falls, NY, the VFW in Wells, VT and an honorary member of the Kiwanis Club. Bobby is survived by his former wife Louise King of Niskyuna, NY, his former wife Nancy King of Granville, NY sons, Ronald King and his wife Kimberly of Schenectady, NY and Robert King of New York City and his granddaughter Kara King of Schenectady, NY. Funeral services for Bobby will be held Friday September 16, 2016 at 11am at the Four Chaplains All Faith Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home. All family and friends are welcome to attend. Interment will follow in the Vermont Veterans Home Cemetery. There are no visiting hours. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Bobby's memory may be made to the Vermont Veterans Home Activities Fund, c/o Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home P.O. Box 957 Bennington, VT 05201.
