Carl Chipman Ebbetts

Carl Chipman Ebbetts, Jr. passed away on Sunday January 14, 2024 at the Vermont Veteran’s home.  Born on August 15, 1928 in Groton CT, Carl was the son of Carl and Mary Ebbetts.  Carl enlisted in the air force at the age of 19.  He served DaNang Air Force in Vietnam as a control tower operator.  After more than 20 years of service, Carl was honorable discharged.  After his return to civilian life, he went to work for AT&T as a field engineer.  Throughout his life he enjoyed swimming, running and golf.  Another hobby he enjoyed were CB radios which permitted him to talk to people from all over the world.

In 1976, Carl married Audrey L. Thomas.  Together they took many trips and tours and spent time with family and friends.  Carl and Audrey lived in Jacksonville, VT and then in retirement years, moved to Brattleboro.  He is survived by his step daughter Sue Ann Tefft and husband Richard of Jacksonville.  Also, his grandchildren whom he enjoyed; David and Tammy Tefft, Abbie and Jesse Holschuh and Thomas and Kimberly Tefft as well as great grandchildren Connor, Silas, Olivia and Evelyn.  Carl is predeceased by his wife Audrey.

There will be no calling hours but graveside services will be held at the discretion of the family.

Memorial gifts may be made in Carl’s name to any local Humane Society.
