Carleton P. "Buddy" Couch , Jr. of Glens Falls, NY passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday March 12, 2016. He was 60 years old. The son of the late Carleton P. Couch Sr. and Virginia (Carbonaro) Couch who survives. He was born in Bennington , VT on September 27, 1955. He attended North Bennington Elementary School and was a graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School, Class of 1973. After graduation he was employed at The Benn-Bury Shop in Shaftsbury. When the store closed he went to work for George Hadwen at the Pennysaver Press as Circulation Manager. After the Pennysaver changed management, he returned to retail working for Stewart's Shops in Bennington, North Hoosick and Berlin. As the dollar stores expanded, he saw an opportunity to change and for the last 25 years managed stores for Dollar Tree in Rotterdam, Albany, Pittsfield and Bennington. He had worked for Dollar General for a short time, leaving for health reasons. Buddy loved riding his motorcycle in early years and was an avid hunter and fisherman.He is survived by his mother Virginia Couch of North Bennington, two aunts Jean Carbonaro of Cupertino, CA and Elizabeth of Englewood ,his former wife Elizabeth Couch, step daughters Jamie and Jill, step grandchildren Rilie and Vance all of Glens Falls, his faithful canine companion Cody, uncles and several cousins.In addition to his father he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Nicolo and Florence Carbonaro and paternal grandparents Duncan and Flora Couch. Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 19 at 11am at the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home with Rev. Penny Rich Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the White Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11am. Memorial gifts may be made to the Dialysis Unit at Glens Falls Hospital in care of the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201. Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 19 at 11am at the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home with Rev. Penny Rich Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the White Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11am.
