Charles (Chuck)A. Youse of Readsboro VT died at home on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. He was 80 years old. He is survived by his loving wife Norma Abel of Readsboro, daughter Barbara Jaus of Manchester NH, son John Youse of Greenfield NH, Granddaughter Kathryn Cerro, her husband Matt and great grandsons (his pride and joy) Dominic and Will of Strafford NH, and granddaughter Allyson Lyon of Manchester NH, his brother Arthur Youse of Charleston WV, 3 nieces and 2 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Eva (Caldwell) Youse of Charleston WV and eldest brother George Youse of Newark DE. Born in Brooklyn, he grew up in Charleston VW. He left Charleston High School at age 15 to attend the University of Chicago as part of The Ford Foundation college program. He left Chicago to enter the U.S. Air Force and married Betty Jo Ritenour of Lafayette IN in 1957 (divorced in 1979). After the Air Force, he got a BS in Electrical Engineering from Perdue University. He was employed by Teletype Corporation in Evanston IL, Digital Equipment Corp in Maynard, Cadmus Computers of Lowell MA, Wang Laboratories of Chelmsford MA, Delphax of Braintree MA and Simplex of Gardner MA. He married Norma Abel in 1987. He and Norma built their dream house in Vermont and retired there officially in 1999. There will be calling hours at the Covey, Allen and Shea Funeral Home on Main street in Wilmington VT on Friday evening August 18 from 7:00-900- PM. A Lutheran memorial service held at the First Baptist Church on Main Street in Readsboro at 11:15 AM on August 19 followed by a celebration of his life at Youse House in Readsboro. No food donations, please!! Donations in his memory may be made to the Norris Cotton Cancer at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon NH. Cremation and funeral arrangements made by Covey, Allen and Shea of Wilmington VT. A Lutheran memorial service held at the First Baptist Church on Main Street in Readsboro at 11:15 AM on August 19 followed by a celebration of his life at Youse House in Readsboro. No food donations, please!!
