Charlotte K. Houghton

Charlotte K. Houghton, 96, formerly of Poultney, VT, passed away September 18, 2023 at Equinox Terrace in Manchester Center surrounded by her family. Charlotte was born in East Arlington, VT on September 26, 1926 the daughter of the late John and Frances (Mann) King. She graduated from Arlington High School and Bishop DeGoesbriand School of Nursing in Burlington, VT. and worked as a Registered Nurse her entire career. Charlotte was an avid knitter, enjoyed following her son’s sporting events and cherished times spent with her family especially her grandchildren. She was very involved and active at St Raphael’s Catholic Church in Poultney for many years. She was a Eucharistic Minister, volunteer at the Thrift Store and was recognized by Bishop Angel for Woman Administration in the Catholic Church. Charlotte is survived by her son Steve Houghton (Judy) of Berwick, ME, daughter Sandy Munson (Ken) of Fort Myers, FL and son Jeff Houghton (Debra) of Poultney, VT, grandchildren Sarah Gaetano (Randy) of York, ME, Rebecca Houghton (Kendall) of Burlingame, CA, Michael Munson (Abbey)of Hawthorne Woods, IL, David Munson (Carly) of Mount Prospect, IL, Jarrod Houghton (Katlyn) of Portsmouth, NH, Tyler Houghton (Kelly) of Kittery, ME and Darren Houghton (Brad) of Manchester, VT. She was preceded in death by her husband Dean Houghton. A Mass of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 23, 2023 at noon at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Poultney. Interment will follow in St Raphael’s Cemetery in Poultney. There are no visiting hours.
