Christie Bliss Ley

On April 29, 2023, our sister, Christie Bliss Ley, passed away into God’s graces after a brief illness. Born in New York City on December 27, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Katharine Bertles Ley and Harold Alexander Ley, Jr. Christie spent her early years in numerous locations including Bronxville, NY; Greenwich, CT; Washington, DC; London, England; Sugar Hill, NH and Dorset, VT before settling in Shaftsbury, VT. With a deep love for all animals, large & small, she was a warrior throughout life, Christie was 65 years old. She is survived by many loving individuals, including sisters Katharine Ley Ercklentz and Whitney Ley Evans, brother William Bertles Ley, stepmother Mary Ley Stambaugh as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins. Christie was predeceased by her brother, Harold Alexander Ley III and her sister, Kingsley Ley Bishop. She will be missed by her many neighbors and friends in Shaftsbury VT and throughout the Northshire region. These include her many Ravenscroft Dog Boarding customers who became close friends. Celebrations of Life in both Vermont and New Hampshire are being planned for later dates.
