Claude Alcide Beaudoin 73, formerly of Attleboro, Massachusetts passed away peacefully at his home on Berry Hill in Sheffield, Vt late Tuesday night October 3, 2023. The eldest child of Leon and Cecile (Moffet) Beaudoin, Claude was born in Quebec City on June 11, 1950 . At an early age he moved along with his parents to the United States where they eventually settled in Bennington, VT. Claude grew up in Bennington attending Sacred Heart School and graduating from Bennington High School, Class of 1968 Following his graduation from high school with an adventurous spirit he found himself living in the Boston area. He worked as a fabricator for the Foxboro company in Foxboro, MA for 43 years, retiring in 2018. With their love of Vermont, Claude and his partner Terry purchased properties in the North East Kingdom, ultimately retiring to their expansive property in the town of Sheffield. Together they enjoyed improving the landscape and views, maintaining their pond, running an AirBnb, and taking in the beauty and simplicity of the Vermont lifestyle. Claude enjoyed snowmobiling, mowing his lawn, and creating stained glass art; but mostly he enjoyed the time spent with friends and loved ones. He will be remembered as a jokester with a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He will also be remembered for his generosity and his kindness. He enjoyed trips to Canada where he could visit with his many relatives, and he proudly continued to maintain his Canadian citizenship. Claude leaves behind his lifelong partner Terry Gayton, sisters Lisa B. Shea (Mark) of Bennington, Helene Beaudoin (Daniel) of Montreal and Linda Elwell (Mark) of Virginia Beach, "in-laws" Michael Gayton (Janet), Mary Robinson (John), Timothy Gayton (Diane) all of Massachusetts and Patrick (Joyce) Gayton of Florida. Claude also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as many friends. He was predeceased by his sister Ginette VanOrman. A gathering of friends and loved ones to remember and celebrate Claude’s life will be held in the summer of 2024.
