Corrine S. Boyd, 87, a resident of Route 112, passed away July 14, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Corrine was born in Readsboro on March 19, 1928 the daughter of Floyd N. and Kathryn (Moxley) Stone. She attended the Valley School in Halifax, graduated from Whitingham High School class of 1946 and from Castleton Teachers College earning her Associates Degree class of 1948. Corrine taught grades 1-6 in Guilford, Vermont, Second Grade in Wilmington and was a substitute teacher for several years in Wilmington, Whitingham and Halifax. Corrine also volunteered for cancer fundraisers, the library, Jacksonville Church and the Whitingham Historical Society. She was a member of the School Board for six years and the Order of the Eastern Star where she was Worthy Grand Matron, Associate Matron, Conductress and Associate Conductress. Corrine is survived by her husband Raymond Boyd whom she married August 30, 1952 in Halifax, VT, children Eric G. Boyd and his wife Cheryl of Whitingham, Shirley J. Boyd Stratton of Bennington and Michael E. Boyd of Whitingham, sister Lucille Rice and her husband Harold of Wilmington, grandchildren Terri A. Boyd Gilbeau, Jesse E. Boyd and Molly K. Stratton, six great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sons Alan Raymond and Arnold Douglas Boyd and siblings Marshal and Carl Stone. Funeral services for Corrine will be held Friday July 17, 2015 at 1pm at the Jacksonville Community Church. Interment will be private. There are no visiting hours. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Corrine's memory may be made to the Whitingham Historical Society or the Jacksonville Community Church, c/o Covey-Allen & Shea Funeral Home P.O. Box 215 Wilmington, Vermont 05363. Funeral services for Corrine will be held Friday July 17, 2015 at 1pm at the Jacksonville Community Church. Interment will be private. There are no visiting hours.
