Danny Roy Main, Sr.

Danny Roy Main, Sr., 56, a resident of McCall Street, passed away March 27, 2016 at Albany Medical Center. Danny was born in Bennington on April 3, 1959, the son of Norman and Phyllis(Squires) Main and attended local schools. Danny worked as a self employed automobile mechanic for many years. Danny loved going to the Saratoga Casino and Raceway. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and in his earlier years he enjoyed being the mechanic on his buddy's car at Lebanon Valley Speedway. He enjoyed listening to all kinds of music especially classic rock and old country music. He loved spending time at Cape Cod and spending time with his family and friends especially spending time with his wife Jo-Anne. Danny is survived by his wife the former Jo-Anne Ranslow of Bennington whom he married in Bennington on August 3, 1989, sons Danny Main, Jr and his wife Amie of Hoosick Falls and Walter Main and his wife Lindsay and Matthew Main and his wife Jayde both of Bennington, Daughters Elizabeth McLaughlin and her husband Bill, and Rebecca Simmons and her husband Bob, both of Bennington, brothers Steve Main and his wife Kathy of Virginia, Jeff Main and his wife Sue of Pownal, Brian Main and his wife Marie, and Barry Main and his wife Wanda both of Bennington, sisters Lisa Kelly and her husband Brian of North Carolina and Melanie Slavin and her husband Larry of Florida, fourteen grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Danny will be held Friday April 1, 2016 at 7pm at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home 213 West Main Street Bennington, VT. Interment will be private. A visiting hour will precede the service at the funeral home from 6-7pm.
