David Charles Brown, 83, a resident of Barbers Pond Road, passed away Friday June 19, 2020 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. David was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 26,1936 the son of the late Frederick Brown and Frances Krone and attended local schools. David had many jobs throughout his life, including working on Wall Street, working in factories, stores and magazines. Most notably he worked as a fire alarm inspector for many years with AFA and ADT. He never had a fire alarm in his inspected buildings that did not work. David had no regrets with his life. He attended the 1939 Worlds Fair met Frank Sinatra and became friends with him, when living in Hollywood, CA he was a D.J. and worked as a model and was known as Dave Jolly. He was a United States Marine veteran and was very good at being a Marine. He was one of four Marines who guarded the missiles during the Cuban Missile Crisis. David is survived by his children Dale Tracy Brown and his wife Aileen of Long Island, NY and Deborah Susan Brown of Florida, brother Francis Brown of Las Vegas, sister Linda Brown of Arizona and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Irene Veronica Conboy Brown whom he married October 11, 1958. Mrs. Brown died in 1974. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Martha, Freddie and Carolyn. Funeral services for David will be held Thursday June 25,2020 at 11am at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home 213 West Main Street Bennington,VT. Interment will follow in Parklawn Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be heldWednesday June 24, 2020 from 1-3pm and 5-7pm.
