David W. Shores, Sr.

David W. Shores, Sr., 54, a resident of Brooklyn Road, passed away unexpectedly December 11, 2016 at his home. David was born in Manchester on June 29, 1962 the son of Alvin Shores, Sr. and Noreen Bourn and attended Manchester schools. David worked as a mason since he was sixteen years of age. David started his own business, Shores Masonry Inc. in 1987. It was a family business that he was very proud of and was adamant in teaching his family the trade, as his father taught him. When David wasn't running his business, he could be found with family and friends hunting, fishing, or boating on Lake Champlain or St Catherine. He loved his animals, country and classic rock music and was a true family man. David is survived by his wife (of 30 years, best friends of 40 years), the former Peggy Lee Melendy of Mt. Tabor, children Laura Lynn Shores of White Creek, NY and David W. Shores, Jr. (Luke) of Mt.Tabor and partner Areil Lake of Mt. Tabor, his mother Noreen Shores of Manchester brothers John Shores and partner Betty Bourne of Arlington, Shane Shores and partner Laurie Berard of Manchester and Corey Shores and partner Laura Thompson of Manchester, sisters Jean Wall of Manchester, Kelly Hernandez and husband Fernando of Kermit, TX, Scottie Fredericks and partner Mike Sheldon of Wells, and Wendy Strobel and fiancé Jim Stroffoleno of Manchester and grandchildren Christian Jacob, Cameron (Camo) and Hanalyn (Halfpint) Colvin. He was preceded in death by his father Alvin Shores Sr., brothers Alvin Shores, Jr. (Bucky) and Larry Shores, sister Casey Shores. Funeral services for David will be held Saturday December 17, 2016 at 11am at Brewster-Shea Funeral Home 34 Park Place Manchester Center, VT. Interment will follow in Factory Point Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Saturday December 17, 2016 from 10-11am one hour prior to the service.
