Dennis H. Brodeur

It is with an extremely heavy heart that we announce the passing of Dennis H. Brodeur of Bennington, VT on December 26, 2024. His unexpected death was due to complications of colon cancer. Dennis was born on December 30, 1949 in Barton, VT to the late Adelard and Florida Brodeur. Dennis is survived by his best friend and love of his life, Mina. They were married for 52 years. Dennis was a loving and supportive father to his children, Sarah Zink and Bethany Brodeur-Frost (son-in-law Clenn Frost). He was an amazing grandfather who absolutely adored and cherished his grandchildren, Jameson Frost (6) and Allaire Frost (2). Dennis is also survived by his siblings Claire Pouliot (brother-in-law Maurice Pouliot) and Claude Brodeur (sister-in-law Nancy Brodeur) and nephews John Pouliot (Rochelle Pouliot and their son, Spencer) and Ron Pouliot (Brooke Pouliot). Preceding Dennis in death was his sister, Simone Brodeur. Dennis graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Newport, VT, then went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from St. Joseph's College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Southern Vermont College. Dennis was employed by Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for 35 years in business services. He had a second career in law enforcement serving as a Deputy Sheriff in Bennington County. What gave Dennis the most enjoyment was the health and happiness of his family. His hobbies included gardening, traveling to Maine, and reading a good book on his porch. More than anything, he loved visiting his grandchildren in Pennsylvania. Visitation will be private. Services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington at 11:00am. A celebration of Dennis' life will be held at the parish center following services. All are welcome to attend. A private burial will take place in the spring.
