Dennis Jones

Dennis D. Jones, 75, a resident of Sylvan Ridge Road, passed away December 8, 2016 at his home. Dennis was born in Hempstead, NY on November 5, 1941 the son of the late Harry Williams Jones and Margaret Daly. He attended schools in Hempstead, graduating from Uniondale High School, then attending Hofstra University. Dennis worked as an I.T. Manager for 35 years for The Long Island Lighting Company. He was a member of the Trailblazers Ski Club and a Mountain Guide at Stratton Mountain. He enjoyed skiing, body surfing in the ocean, traveling the Eastern Seaboard, camping in the mountains, downhill biking, woodworking, building things. His true passion was his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, the former Charlotte Sanders whom he married February 7, 1964 in Massapequa, NY, daughters, Denise Sullivan (Patrick) of Greenlawn, NY, Alicia Bartlett (George) of Peru, VT and Suzanne Cozine (Gregory) of Huntington, NY, and grandchildren Sean, Daniel, Kathleen, Dylan, Russell, Annalise, Camille and Harrison. A celebration of the life of Dennis D. Jones will be held Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 1pm at the Peru Congregational Church. Interment will be private. There are no visiting hours. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Dennis's memory may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, c/o of Brewster-Shea Funeral Home P.O. Box 885 Manchester Center, VT 05255. A celebration of the life of Dennis D. Jones will be held Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 1pm at the Peru Congregational Church. Interment will be private. There are no visiting hours.
