Diana Blackburn Pennell

Diana Blackburn Pennell, 66, of Vancouver, WA passed away on July 10, 2022 of natural causes while on vacation with her family in Vermont. Diana was born on July 9, 1956 in North Wilkesboro, NC and grew up in Roaring River, NC. Diana attended East Wilkes High School, Wilkes Community College, and graduated from Appalachian State University. She worked for many years at Target in Vancouver, WA where she enjoyed her coworkers. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, reading, hiking, and going on trips with family and friends for which she always wrote detailed itineraries. She was preceded in death by her father, Garnace Blackburn. Diana is survived by her husband Dennis of Vancouver, WA; her mother Peggie Blackburn and sister Denise McCann (Pat McCann) of Roaring River, NC; daughters Summer Pennell (Susan Swogger) of Essex Junction, VT and Tegan Glaude (Noah Glaude) of Port Angeles, WA; and her grandchildren Odin, Odessa, Ivy, and Orion. The family will hold a private memorial service on her favorite hiking trail.
