Diane Cubeta

Diane Marie Cubeta, 70, of Whitingham, VT passed away unexpectedly in Lebanon, NH on October 26th, 2015. Diane was born in Middletown, CT on August 19th, 1945 to Richard and Grace Kelsey (Rafferty). She attended public schools and church in Middletown. On April 16th, 1966, she was married to the love of her life, Robert B. Cubeta, Sr. Together they raised three children in Old Saybrook and Haddam, CT. In 2004 they retired to Whitingham, VT. Diane and Robert have been married for 49 wonderful years. Diane enjoyed socializing, shopping, buying and selling antiques and collectibles, cooking, and gardening. However, she found her greatest happiness being around her family and friends. Diane was very active in the community, the church and the Red Hatters Club. She had the ability to make friends wherever she went. To know her was to love her. "A heart of gold stopped beating, Two shiny eyes at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best, God knows you had to leave us But you didn't go away alone, For part of us went with you The day he took you home. To some you'll be forgotten, And to other just a part of the past, But to us who love and lost you, Your memory will always last." Diane is pre-deceased by her parents and her uncle Warren Kelsey. She is survived by her loving husband Robert Cubeta, her brother Richard Kelsey and his wife Patricia, her son Robert Jr. and his wife Flora, her son Brian and his wife Patricia, her daughter Lexie and her husband Scott, her grandchildren Ashlyn, Marisa, Tori, Ashleigh, Adam, and her dog Sarah. The viewing will be at Covey & Allen Funeral Home, 44 East Main Street, Wilmington, VT on Tuesday November 3rd from 5:00 to 7:00. The funeral service will be held at the Jacksonville Community Church, Rt. 112, Jacksonville, VT on Wednesday November 4th at 10:00. There will be refreshments after the service in the Sunday School of the church. The interment will follow at the Shailerville / Tylerville Cemetery, Camp Bethel Rd., Haddam, CT at 3:00. All are invited to attend the viewing, the service and interment. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please send donations in Diane's memory to the Jacksonville Community Church or The Cardiac Critical Care Unit, 4th Floor, Dartmouth Hospital, Lebanon, NH.
