Donna L. Libbey

Donna L. Libbey, age 73, a resident of 5495 River Road, Arlington passed away January 21, 2019 at her home. Born December 8, 1945 in Lewiston, Maine , she was the adopted daughter of the late Roland and Leona (Pratt) Libbey. She attended Falmouth(Maine) High School and later, secretarial school and worked in New York City as a legal secretary for a number of city law firms. Donna was the birth mother of Leanne Kaplan of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida , sister of Marcia Canwell and aunt of Derek Canwell, both of Brockton, Mass., and aunt of Danielle Flaherty of Marlboro, Mass. She is sadly missed by her loving companion and adoring friend, William(Bill) Henry of Arlington, along with her kitty, Porkypie. Despite a difficult and often challenging life starting with childhood, Donna proved resilient with the support of her many friends throughout her life no matter where she lived and who she cherished deeply, and with the her devotion to Christian beliefs. She became a strong woman, always stylish, caring, with a child's heart and a vibrant personality that captivated all. A celebration of Donna's life will be held Saturday February 2, 2019 at 1pm at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home Historic Route 7A Arlington, VT. A visiting hour will be held one hour prior to the service from 12-1pm. Rev. Keith Mann will officiate. Interment will be held next to her parents in Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery in Lewiston, Maine later in the spring.
