Dorothy (Dottie) Page Goode

Dorothy (Dottie) Page Goode, 94, a resident of Manchester, VT, passed away February, 2022 at her home. Dottie was born July 14, 1928 in the City of Bridgeport, Fairfield County, Connecticut. Dottie attended Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia. She was married for over 60 years to Wilhoite (William) Goode (deceased). Dottie was the former co-owner of Windigo Travel Inc. in Manchester, VT with her husband. She held a real estate license in the State of Florida and was a former ski instructor at Bromley Mountain. She and her husband Bill were well traveled and visited Italy, Great Britain, Sweden, Belgium, the Caribbean, European ski areas, and many other countries. Dottie was a passionate golfer and belonged to the Dorset Field Club. Starting as soon as the golf course opened and well into the fall, Dottie could be found on the course, either playing or walking the course. As late as 2020 she carried her own bag around the course. Dottie and her husband were also passionate skiers and used to spend the month of January skiing out west. They spent many years skiing in Aspen, CO, Steamboat Springs, CO, and Big Sky, Montana. She was a longtime member of the Independent Social Club called the Silver Griffins at Bromley Mountain. Some of her favorite days were when she skied in the morning and played golf in the afternoon. Dottie was a regular supporter of the National Wildlife Federation. Dottie is survived by her niece Anne Blanchard of Natick, MA and her nephew Donald Blanchard of Pittsburgh, PA. She was preceded in death by her mother Marjorie Deloss Page and father Donald Shapleigh Page of Bridgeport, CT and her sister Marjorie Page Blanchard (deceased 1983). She will be buried with her husband in Bridgeport, CT in a family plot in the Mountain Grove Cemetery.
