Dorothy Moncrief Whitney

Dorothy Moncrief Whitney, 84, a resident of Higley Hill Road, passed away July 10, 2018 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Dorothy was born in Jersey City, NJ on January 14, 1934 the daughter of the late Rosario Acito and Florence Cook and attended local schools. After receiving her masters degree, Dorthy taught school in Bayonne, NJ for over 30 years. She enjoyed knitting, teaching, traveling, especially to Europe, Italy and Spain and spending time with her family. Dorothy is survived by her children Aaron Moncrief of Georgia, Jason Moncrief and his wife Elizabeth of Bayonne, NJ and Paul Moncrief and his wife Patricia of Keyport, NJ, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Aaron Moncrief whom she married in 1950 in New Jersey and passed away August 1996 and her second husband Harold"Sonny" Whitney whom she married February 1, 2004 in Marlboro, VT and passed away March 5, 2017. A time of visitation for Dorothy will be held Saturday July 21, 2018 from 2-4pm at Covey-Allen & Shea Funeral Home 44 East Main Street Wilmington, VT.
