Dorothy O'Brien, 92, a resident of Manchester, passed away Saturday May 7, 2016 at Equinox Terrace. Dorothy was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on December 8, 1923 the daughter of the late Howard and Helen (Marsico) Laux. She attended local schools and graduated from Middlebury College. Dorothy was a writer and wrote press clippings for sports and club events, articles for local newspapers and advertising copy. She was a member of Pellham Country Club, enjoyed skiing, photography and listening to classical music. She was an excellent oil painter on canvass and cherished times spent with her family. Dorothy is survived by her children Mark O'Brien and his wife Barbara of Ocean City, NJ and Jeffrey O'Brien of Berwin, PA, and grandchildren Sarah Jane, Jack, Conor and Larkin O'Brien. She was preceded in death by a son Howard O'Brien who died in 2010 and her sister Jane Holt. A celebration of the life of Dorothy O'Brien will be held Saturday morning May 14, 2016 at 10am at the First Congregational Church in Manchester. Interment will follow in the family lot in Dellwood Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
