Dorothy S. Buffum 83, a former resident of North Bennington passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 2, 2016 in Concord, NH. She will be welcomed into Heaven by the love of her life, Clifford and her son Butch. She was born the daughter of Harry and Lucy (Russell) Sanders. She was born in North Bennington November 30, 1932 where she grew up and completed her education. Dorothy married Clifford E. Buffum Sr. in 1952 and had three children. She had worked at the Polygraphic, the Union Carbide and in the cafeteria at Mt. Anthony Junior High School. She was a stay at home mom for many years. Clifford passed away on January 14, 2007. Dorothy loved playing bingo and enjoyed bowling, bird watching, crocheting and knitting, however her greatest pleasure was spending time with family and friends. She leaves her daughters Janet Cook of The Woodlands, Texas and Jodie Buffum and companion Dan Gagnon of Center Barnstead, NH, her brothers Harry Sanders of Bennington, Clyde Sanders of Shaftsbury, Frank Sanders of Maine, and sister Mary Baker of Florida, her grandchildren Michelle Cook Bardas and significant other William Bardas, Kyle Buffum, Monica Buffum and companion Isaac Bothwick, and Kayleigh Buffum, her great grandchildren Brandon and Madison Giard and Kayden Buffum, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son Clifford E. "Butch" Buffum on February 27, 2007, sisters Joan, Sally and Irene. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7-9 pm when the family will be present. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 8 at 11am at the Hanson Walbridge & Shea-Arlington Chapel, following the service, she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Clifford in the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the charity of choice in care of the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home, P.O. Box 528, Arlington, VT 05250.
