Earl F. “Butch” Hunt Jr.

Earl F. “Butch” Hunt Jr. 69 passed away peacefully at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, New York on Wednesday evening October 16, 2019 following an extended illness.The son of Earl F. and Georgianna (Stratton) Hunt Sr. and brother of Priscilla Hunter, he was born in Bennington on September 18, 1950. Butch grew up in the Valley Falls area and graduated from Hoosic Valley High School. He worked as a carpenter throughout his life and enjoyed building furniture, he had a love of car racing, especially NASCAR. Butch leaves his sons Shawn Hunt of Petersburgh, NY and Jebediah Hunt of Georgia, daughter Stephanie Lynn Reiser of Pittstown, NY and step daughter Michael Zirpoli of South Carolina, nephews Rich and Keith Hunter, several siblings including brother Jeff Hunt of Hoosick, NY, seven grandchildren: Shawn Mike, Tylor, Erik, Taylor, Walter, Rielly and Aidanand several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Friday October 25 at 1pm at the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home with Reverend Richard McSherry officiating. A private burial will take place at the family lot.
