Edith M. Sargood

Edith M. Sargood, 84, a resident of North Road, passed away February 7, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Edith was born in Mt. Tabor, VT on April 10, 1936 the daughter of the late Roscoe and Effie Bush Bolster. She attended Manchester schools, graduating from Burr & Burton Seminary. Edith worked as a waitress for many area restaurants and previously as a secretary in the Sunderland School System for a short while and later on as a caregiver. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Manchester, American Legion Auxiliary, DAR and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Edith enjoyed traveling with her Senior Group, line dancing, and listening to country music especially the sounds of local artist Smokey Greene. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edith is survived by her children Sheila Sargood of Bennington, Connie Hawley (Rick) of Arlington, David Sargood (Roberta) of Shushan, NY, Alan Sargood (Kelly) of Arlington and Maine, Joanne Sargood (Chuck) of Shaftsbury and Jeffrey Sargood (Eileen) of Arlington, sister-in-law Betty Hughes, 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Sargood, brothers Roger and Frederick Bolster and her sister Joyce Clafin. Due to Covid-19 restrictions funeral services for Edith will be private.
