Edward Hazell

Edward Thomas Hazell, 86, a resident of Ray Hill Road, passed away October 12, 2015 at Vernon Green Nursing Home surrounded by his family. Edward was born in Seaford, NY on June 21, 1929 the son of Edward V. and Iris (Banfield) Hazell and attended local school. Edward was a jack and master of all trades. He worked as a master craftsman for many area construction companies, working on many area construction projects. He was known for small engine repair and also drove a school bus. He was a former member of the American Motorcycle Association New York Chapter, the Historical Railroad Society Vermont Chapter and former member and leader of the Boy Scouts of America. Edward was also a United States Navy Veteran. Edward loved anything to do with trains and was an animal lover. He enjoyed fishing and was known to tell a great story. He enjoyed the water, boating, active in RV Clubs and enjoyed times spent with his family. Edward is survived by his children William E. Hazell and his wife Bonnie of Wilmington, James Hazell and his wife Annette of Searsburg, Pamela Hazell of Florida, Kathy Bronson and her husband Raymond of West Dover and Pattie Bolognani and her husband Robert and Donna Spiller and her husband Mark both of Wilmington sixteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine whom he married in Bellemore, New York on May 23, 1959 and his sister Vickie Fretz. At the request of the family there will be no formal funeral service.
