Edward Walling, 93, a resident of Woodcock Road passed away February 3, 2016 at his home. Edward was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 6, 1922 the son of Samuel and Frieda (Olff) Walling and attended local schools. Edward worked as a custodial engineer at Aviation High School in Long Island City, NY for many years retiring to Vermont where he raised Lippitt Morgan Horses on his farm in Sandgate. He loved taking care of his school in Long Island City and was a Brooklyn Dodger baseball fan. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Lippett Morgan Club. He took pride in preserving this special breed of Morgan horse. Edward is survived by his sister Theresa Catania of Coral Springs, FL , Jessica Nilsen of Sandgate whom he considered his daughter and his close friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn Rita Walling who died in 1986, his son Edward Walling, Jr. who died in 1982 and second wife Mary Walling who died July 10, 2012. A mass of christian death and burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 11am from Christ our Savior Parish (St. Paul) in Manchester Center, Vt. Interment will follow in St Columbans Cemetery in Arlington, There are no visiting hours. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Edward's memory may be made to Manchester Health Services, The Carthusian Foundation, or Arlington Rescue Squad, c/o Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home Arlington Chapel P.O.
