Emily Jane Burke Slade

Emily Jane Burke Slade, 78, died Thursday December 16th 2021 at her residence surrounded by her Granddaughter Amber Sheldon and her family in Marlboro VT. She was born on April 21st 1943 in Dorset Vermont, the youngest daughter of Owen and Iona Burke. She was employed for many years doing house cleaning, and owned her own business “Body Fitness” until she finally retired. She loved watching and feeding the birds as well as sitting outside and soaking up the sun and taking care of her flower gardens. She also loved reading mystery books with Archer Mayor, James Patterson and Lee Child being a few of her favorite authors. She enjoyed doing word Search puzzles. She was a caring and devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was predeceased by both her mother and father, Owen and Iona Burke of Dorset VT, brother Owen Burke of Rupert VT, brother Claude Burke of Dorset VT, sister Hazel Tarbell of Dorset VT and sister Gladys Prouty of Dorset VT. She is survived by her sister Beverly Bush of Manchester VT, son Ronald Slade Jr of South Londonderry VT, daughter Veronica Blackmer and her husband Fred of Sunderland VT, daughter Victoria Hewes and her husband Herbert Hewes JR of Manchester Ctr VT, grandson Rick Gaudette of Sandy Oregon, grandson Taylor Hewes of Sunderland VT, granddaughter Amber Sheldon and her husband Schuyler Sheldon of Marlboro VT, granddaughter Robyn Yoder of Rutland VT, granddaughter Angela Fuller and her husband Chris Fuller of Sunderland VT, granddaughter Molly Blackmer of Woodford VT, grandson Justin Slade of Rutland VT, grandson Jesse Slade of Rutland VT, great-grandson Matthew Chase of Marlboro VT, great-granddaughter Brooklynn Chase of Marlboro VT, great-grandson Skylar Hewes of Sunderland VT, And great-granddaughter Maddison Yoder of Rutland VT.
