Etta L. Harris

Etta L. Harris, 81, a resident of Elm Street, passed away Monday December 14, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. Etta was born in North Adams, Massachusetts on November 5, 1939 the daughter of the late Lester Bennett and Bessie Mae Rhodes and attended local schools. Etta was employed by Sprague Electric in North Adams as an assembly worker for many years. Etta enjoyed bird watching, gardening and loved flowers. She loved hugs, listening to Christian music and going for rides during foliage season. She was a member of the North Pownal Congregational Church and enjoyed spending time with her church family. Etta enjoyed her home and cherished times spent with her family. Etta is survived by her children Brenda Jean Harris and Becky Lynn Burdick both of Bennington, brother William Leonard (patty Leonard) of Pownal, sister Rose Darling of Bennington, grandchildren Lesley Lynn Burdick, Scott Edward Burdick, Anthony Falace, Matthew Falace and great grandchildren Ali Kate Burdick, Scott (Scottie) Edward Burdick, Adam, Ben and Caden Falace. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Harris whom she married September 15, 1956 in Hoosick Falls, NY. Mr. Harris passed away February, 6, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her son Ronald Lee Harris, and her brothers Carlton and Steve Leonard. Private graveside funeral services for Etta will be held in Oakhill Cemetery in Pownal, VT. There are no visiting hours. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Etta’s memory may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, c/o Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home P.O.
