Evelyn M Casey

Evelyn M. Casey, 91, a resident of Route 30, passed away December 7, 2020 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Evelyn was born in Whitehall, NY on May 6, 1929 the daughter of the late Clayton Balch and Gladys M. Fuller and attended local schools. Evelyn worked for the Ben Franklin Company, the Train and the billing department at Bennington Hospital. She was a member of the Dorset Fire Department Auxiliary for many years. Evelyn enjoyed knitting, crocheting and camping. She made hundreds of quilts for veterans at the Vermont Veteran’s Home and provided her handmade quilts as gifts. Evelyn loved her home and cherished times spent with her family. She is survived by her children Barbara J, Bischoff of Punta Gorda, FL., Nancy S. Hoyt of Manchester, VT and Alan L. Casey of Dorset, VT, her brother Donald Balch of Gansevoort, NY, her sister Ann Todd of Whitehall, NY, 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard E. Casey whom she married April 13, 1948 in Whitehall. NY, sons James E. Casey and Ronald W. Casey, sister Lillian Stevens and her brother Francis Balch. At the request of the family there are no formal funeral services at this time.
