Evelyn Grace Berard

Evelyn Grace Berard, 79, a resident of Readsboro, passed away September 19, 2015 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn was born in Whitingham on April 18, 1936 the daughter of Harvey and Esther (Starks) Carrier and attended Whitingham schools. In her earlier years Evelyn was employed at the Leather Shop in Whitingham. Evelyn enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, watching game shows and playing bingo. She enjoyed children and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of American Legion Post 29 Auxiliary, DAV and AARP. Evelyn is survived by her children William Berard, Jr. of Readsboro and Linda Denny and her husband Ray of Putney, VT, sisters Frances Boyd and Berneice Murdock of Wilmington and Seraph Stoddard of West Chesterfield, NH, grandchildren, Kyle Sumner and Ashley Berard, great grandchildren Austin and Ravin Sumner and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband William Berard, Sr. who passed away May 14, 1997, brothers Wesley and Edward Carrier and sister Gladys Boyd. Graveside funeral services for Evelyn will be held Saturday September 26, 2015 at 10am at Readsboro Village Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
