Robert "Jeffrey" Waite

On March 30th, 2024, Robert Jeffrey Waite passed away peacefully at the age of 98.

Jeffrey (he never went by Robert) was born in Wales, Great Britain on November 25th, 1925.

He moved to Canada in the 1940’s.

He then lived in Woodstock, Manhattan, and Carmel, New York.

Finally retiring to Hoosick, New York with his wife, the late Sylvia Clark Waite, in the 1980’s.

He was a master carpenter and master book dealer.

He along with his wife Sylvia were the proprietors of DogEars Book Store in Hoosick, N.Y. for almost 4 decades.

Jeffrey was the father to Christopher, and Peter Waite, and step-father to Daisy Clark Saliaris, Jane Clark, Emily Clark, and the late Asa B. Clark.

Unfortunately, there will never be anyone in this world like him. He was one of a kind, and those who knew him will miss him greatly.

There will be a private memorial at a later date.
