Forrest Gordon "Zip" Jacobs, 77, a resident of Townshend, passed away January 14, 2016 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Forrest was born in Wilmington, Vermont on December 12, 1938 the son of Henry and Marjorie (Atherton) Jacobs and attended local schools. Forrest worked as a master plumber for twenty-eight years and a logger for fifteen years. He was a member of the National Guard and enjoyed riding his motorcycle and when he was younger enjoyed racing cars. He enjoyed hunting, traveling especially to Florida and California, listening to country music, following NASCAR and spending time with his family. Forrest is survived by his children Douglas Jacobs of Springfield, Vermont, Steven Jacobs of Townshend, Vicki Stone and her husband Keith of Halifax and Tammi Fogarty and her husband Rick of Whispering Pines, North Carolina, brother Philip Trevorrow of Townshend, sisters Marcia Connolly of Wilmington, Barbara Jacobs of Cumberland Center, Maine and Debbie Brassor of Brattleboro, ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Henry Jacobs. At the request of the family graveside funeral services in Oakwood Cemetery in Townshend will be held in the spring. There are no visiting hours.
