Frances R. Boyd

Frances R. Boyd, 86, a resident of Main Street, passed away August 6, 2020 at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. Frances was born in West Brattleboro, VT on August 4, 1934 the daughter of the late Harvey and Esther Stark Carrier. She attended grade school in Brattleboro and graduated from Whitingham High School in 1953. Frances worked as a seamstress for many years, the O.O. Ware Store in Wilmington and most recently as a manager for Rite Aid Pharmacy. She enjoyed candle pin bowling, was a former member of the Eastern Star and was a 4-H leader and Cub Scout Den Leader. She enjoyed knitting, cross word puzzles, was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family. Frances is survived by her children Laurie Boyd of Wilmington, Alan Boyd and his wife Patricia of Brattleboro and Scott Boyd and his wife Suzanne of Rowley, MA, sisters Bernice Murdock of Townshend, VT and Seraph Stoddard of West Chesterfield, NH and grandchildren Kiley and Collin Boyd. She was preceded in death by her husband Neil Boyd whom she married in Brattleboro on February 28, 1953. Mr. Boyd died in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her son Brett Boyd who died in 1984, brothers Edward and Wesley Carrier and sisters Gladys Boyd and Evelyn Berard. Graveside funeral services for Frances will be held Saturday August 15, 2020 at 10:30am at Riverview Cemetery in Wilmington. There are no visiting hours.
