Frances Bruce

Frances M, Bruce, 77, a resident of Poultney and formerly of Pawlet , passed away June 24, 2016 after a long battle of cancer. Frances was born in Rutland, Vermont on October 29, 1938 and adopted by James & Viola Town of Danby, Vermont. Frances was married to Gordon Bruce for 62 years. They raised 6 children, 4 boys and 2 girls starting their life in Danby. Frances worked 23 years at the Orvis Company in Manchester, Vt. Then semi-retired and worked part time for Richie's Slate in Granville, NY. As the children grew up Frances enjoyed taking her boys to Cub scouts and little league and being the car pool mom. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her horses. Frances is survived by, her husband Gordon A. Bruce of Poultney, Vt. Children Richard & wife Mary, of Oklahoma City, Ronnie & wife Bonnie of Dorset, Vt., Edward of Omaha, Ne, Randy of Ft. Myers, Fl, Terri & Dave Hendrickson of Weybridge, Vt, Christine & Matt Halliday of Pittsford, Vt., 6 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. Funeral services for Frances will be held July 1, 2016 at 3pm at the Pawlet Community Church, Pawlet, Vermont. Interment will follow in West Pawlet Cemetery for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Frances's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society c/o Brewster-Shea Funeral Service P.O. Box 885 Manchester Center, VT. Funeral services for Frances will be held July 1, 2016 at 3pm at the Pawlet Community Church, Pawlet, Vermont. Interment will follow in West Pawlet Cemetery for the immediate family.
