Francis Fischer

Francis E. Fischer passed away at home Friday January 12, 2018. Fran was born in Bennington July 15, 1940. He attended Woodford Schools and Benn Hi. He was a member of the Vermont National Guard. In earlier years he worked for Gerald Morrissey and John Moore. For most of his career he ran his own business (Fischer Construction). Francis married Dorothy (Thayer) Fischer June 3, 1961, they raised their family in East Arlington. Fran was predeceased by his wife and son, Francis F. "Butch" Fischer. Francis is survived by his son Gary and wife Margretta of Arlington, his daughter Katherine of East Arlington , his daughter Cynthia of New York. At Francis' request there will be no calling hours. Graveside funeral services will be held in the spring at St. Columbans Cemetery and will be announced at that time.
