Francis George Wilkins

Francis George Wilkins, 93, a resident of North Road, passed away November 22, 2021 at Albany, NY Medical Center. Francis was born in Wells, VT on September 22, 1928 the son of the late Webster and Olleen Kingsley Wilkins and attended local schools. Francis worked as a self- employed wood worker and builder his entire working career. He was a former 4-H leader, past member of the Dorset Sportsman’s Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Manchester. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and any outdoor activity. He loved his dog Lola, enjoyed dancing and spending time with his family. Francis is survived by his wife Virginia Connolly Wilkins of Sunderland whom he married in Dorset, VT on April 2, 1983, daughters Linda McDevitt of Arlington and Susan Gorsch of Oneonta, NY, step daughter Sandra Beattie of Sunderland, stepsons Neil Humphrey (Cindy) of Sunderland, Brian Bushee (Anna) of Sunderland and John Bushee (Melissa) of Sunderland, 7 Grandchildren, 18 Step grandchildren,13 great grandchildren and 32 Step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sons Richard Wilkins who died in 2012 and Allan Wilkins who died in 1971, step-daughter Colleen Bannister, step-son Victor Humphrey and sister Betty Ference. A private family celebration of life for Francis will be held Saturday December 4, 2021 at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home Arlington Chapel Historic Route 7A Arlington, VT. Interment will be private. There are no visiting hours.
