Frank Abner Tarbell

Frank Abner Tarbell of Dorset VT died July 20, 2016 in Bennington VT. He was born October 7, 1922 to Frank Abner Tarbell Sr and Georgia May (Lake) Tarbell, the youngest of five children who all predeceased him; Clifford, Christine, Harriet, and Helen. Frank left school at a young age to work. He was employed in the local area as a farmer, a log truck driver, State of VT Road crew, and a caretaker. He enjoyed working, hunting, fishing, dancing, camping and snowmobiling. He was a life member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2551 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Manchester VT. He was married to the former Hazel Burke of Dorset and later to Joyce Hewes Dean Miller Tarbell, who predeceased him in June 2016.He was predeceased by two daughters, Claudia and Joan and is survived by sons Cyrus (Rusty) Tarbell, Clifford Tarbell , Claude Tarbell and wife Phyllis, all of Pawlet, VT and daughter Betty White and husband Gerald of Ferrisburgh,VT and Wildwood, FL. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Memorial donations in memory of Frank may be made to the Manchester Rescue Squad, c/o Brewster-Shea Funeral Services, P.O. Box 885 Manchester Center, VT 05255. Calling hours at Brewster-Shea Funeral Service in Manchester Center, VT will be held on Tuesday July 26 from 5-6:30 and a time to share memories of Frank will be held at 630-7pm.
