Gary Crosby, age 68, died peacefully in his home on Thursday, April 4th 2018. Born April 4th, 1950 in Halifax to the late Barbara "Dalrymple" & Frederick Crosby Jr. Gary spent most of his life in Halifax Vermont. Gary went to school in Halifax and attended High School in Whitingham. After high school Gary enlisted in the Army where he spent a year serving in Germany. He later enlisted with the Vermont National Guard with many years of service. Gary enjoyed spending time on his land, he was an avid reader, and loved spending time with his beloved dog, Neko. During his life, he was employed at places including The Book Press in Brattleboro, Clear Solutions in Vernon and Main Street Mill Works in Greenfield, MA. Gary is survived by his longtime partner, Harriett Ellis of Brattleboro, his children Amy Crosby-Perham and her husband Robert Jr. of New Hampshire, Shane Crosby and his wife Maria of Pennsylvania, and Megan LaFlam and her husband Sean of Vernon. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kayla White of Virginia, Anna and Nicholas Crosby of Pennsylvania, Brooke, Tyson, and Brock Longe and Makayla and Kailie LaFlam of Vernon, Ashley Champney and Robert Perham III of New Hampshire, Koren, Chelsea and Eli Boyd all of Martha's Vineyard, and his great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Hannah Champney, and Sophia and Cole Perham of New Hampshire. Gary is also survived by three brothers; Frederick "Hop" Crosby III and his wife Melanie of Halifax, Kirk Crosby and his wife Sally of Halifax, John Crosby of Brattleboro, and a sister, Kelley Crosby of Revere, MA, as well as many nieces and nephews. Per Gary's wishes, no funeral services will be held. His family will celebrate his life privately, in a ceremony on his land.
