George Michael Ennis, 49, a resident of Button Falls Road, passed away April 18, 2022 at Albany Medical Center. George was born in Bennington, VT on June 8, 1972 the son of Anthony and Linda (Grover) Ennis. He attended Sunderland schools, graduating from Burr & Burton Seminary. George worked as an auto mechanic for many years, owning and operating G.E. Auto Repair. George was a devoted husband and father and was involved in any way with his daughter’s sports participation. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, bonfires, and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed coaching softball and basketball, was an Atlanta Braves baseball fan and an avid NASCAR fan, especially following Jimmie Johnson throughout the years. George is survived by his wife Shannon (Ahern) Ennis of West Pawlet, his daughter Courtney Ennis of West Pawlet, his father Tony Ennis of Sunderland, brother Tony Ennis, Jr. of Arlington, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Linda Ennis who passed away April 27, 2015. Funeral services for George will be held Tuesday April 26, 2022 at 11am at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home Arlington Chapel Historic Rt. 7A Arlington, VT. Interment will follow in Ira Allen Cemetery in Sunderland. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Monday April 25, 2022 from 4-7pm when the family will be in attendance.
