Gerald W. Lind, 61, a resident of Lind Lane, passed away May 16, 2017 at Albany Medical Center. Jerry was born in Worcester, MA on January 13, 1956 the son of Arthur and Alfhild (Peterson) Lind. He attended schools in Wilmington, graduating from Wilmington High School. Jerry worked as a water well driller in the family business Lind and Son well drilling. Following that he worked for A&W well drilling . He worked as an equipment operator for the Town of Searsburg,Vermont State Highway Department, Covey Excavating and then worked for Leader Home Center. He was very involved with the Town of Searsburg and was on the Select Board for 18 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Wilmington. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Traveling to the ocean and going to the beach, but his true passion was spending time with his son Derick, and being at their camp. Jerry is survived by his former wife of over thirty years Sherrie Fox of Jacksonville, son Derick Lind of Searsburg and brothers David Lind of Big Timber, Montana and Gary Lind of Wilsall, Montana. Memorial services for Jerry will be held Wednesday May 24, 2017 at 11am at Covey-Allen & Shea Funeral Home 44 East Main Street Wilmington, VT. Interment will be private. There are no visiting hours.
