Gloria D Howell

Gloria D. Howell, 87 a resident of No Name Road in Arlington passed away on Sunday October 3, 2021 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. The daughter of Oliver and Mildred Danforth, she was born in Poultney on August 20, 1934. For many years she and her family have operated Howell’s Campground in Arlington . Gloria was an independent staunch woman as well as a fierce competitor in business and pleasure. She was an avid golfer and served several years as treasurer of the Arlington Golf Association , she loved playing at the Arlington Rec. Park. She was an excellent bowler often competing on the National level. As an accomplished seamstress she performed many alterations for family and friends alike. She leaves her son Bill Howell of Arlington, daughter MaryAnn of Chittenden, brother Oliver Danforth of Port St. Lucie, FL , a sister Ella Messer of Rutland , grandchildren Jesse Christopher Howell, Sydney Marina Howell and Thomas Zachary Howell , nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by several siblings and her husband William C. Howell who died May 7, 2018. In keeping with Gloria’s wishes services will be private.
