Harley M. Betit, 45, a resident of Plumb Road, passed June 24, 2016 at his home. Harley was born in Whitingham on August 24, 1970 the son of John A. and Grace A. (Carruth) Betit. He attended Whitingham schools, graduating from Whitingham High School. Harley was a devoted father who also enjoyed working on cars, boating, snowmobiling , listening to rock music and loved riding motorcycles. Harley is survived by his sons Dylan Betit of Whitingham and Corey Betit of Springfield, VT, daughters Kayla Betit of Colechester Vermont, Felicia Betit, Alexis Betit and Angel Betit all of Whitingham, his mother Grace Betit of Whitingham, brothers Steven Betit and wife Darlene of Whitingham, John Betit of Halifax and Lorne Betit and wife Kristy of Whitingham, sisters Judy Slowinski and husband Matthew of Colrain, MA, Jeanette Felton of Whitingham, Charlayne Shepherd and husband Andy, Diane Rogers and husband David of Northfield, MA, Almira Aekus and husband Craig of Whitingham, Nicole Slowinski and husband James of Colrain, MA and Jennifer Herzig and husband Norman, Jr. of Colrain, MA, grandson Addycus Betit, and many nieces of VT, nephews and cousins. Harley also leaves Jully Thayer of Readsboro, VT and Dylan Decker of Brattleboro, VT. He was preceded in death by his father John A. Betit and brothers Joel A. Betit, Brian Betit and Marc Betit. Graveside funeral services for Harley will be held Thursday June 30, 2016 at 11am in Sadawga Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at Covey Allen & Shea Funeral Home 44 East Main Street Wilmington, VT. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Harley's memory may be made to the Harley M. Betit Memorial Fund, c/o Covey-Allen & Shea Funeral Home P.O. Box 215 Wilmington, VT 05363. The family is requesting that anyone that can ride a motorcycle to the funeral home and graveside services in honor of Harley's love for motorcycles.
