Harold Beebe

Harold Roger Beebe, 91, died peacefully on May 27, 2018 in the home he was born in. He was born in East Dorset on January 15, 1927 to Walter & Edna (Pettibone) Beebe. Harold was a graduate of Burr & Burton Seminary class of 1944. After graduation, he stayed to work on the family farm with his father. He married the love of his life, Jane Park on October 30, 1949. Harold believed in his community and held several offices. He was Town Constable, Delinquent Tax Collector, Justice of the Peace, Selectman and Cemetery Commissioner. Harold was also one of the founding members of the East Dorset Fire Department. Harold lived all of his life on the farm that has been in his family for over 165 years. He worked at Stratton Mountain as Security Officer, worked in Manchester Village as a Police officer under George Hoag. During WWII, he was in the Civil Defense. He was a faithful member of the East Dorset Congregational Church until he could not attend due to his illness. You could find him helping at the church's annual ham and strawberry dinners. In later years, you could see him on his golf cart taking the dogs for a run or driving around the horse show. He is survived by his four sons, Thomas & Kathy, Douglas & Denise, David and Partner Sarah, Clifford & Partner Andrea, & Daughter-in-Law Melinda Beebe. 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, many nieces & nephews and very special and faithful companion, Emma, a black lab mix. He was predeceased by his Parents, his wife, Jane (Park) Beebe whom died in 2016 and his two brothers, Wilson & Leland Beebe. Calling hours will be held from 5:00pm -7;00pm on Thursday 5/31/18 at Brewster & Shea Funeral Service 34 Park Place Manchester Center, VT. A funeral service will be held Friday, 6/1/18 at 2:00pm at East Dorset Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to East Dorset Fireman's Association or St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of Brewster-Shea Funeral Service, P.O. Box 885, Manchester Center, VT 05255.
